In La Salle there is a dam. You can portage it on both sides.

For the put in after Champex, follow the road on the right side and on the big turn go straight, the road changes side and you can put in wherever you want. The advantage is that you can also scout the river.

Just under the bridge of the put in there is a car or something like this under the water.
After the put in at the end of the first rapid there is a big siphonny boulder take care.
After that, there are many artificial steps, be careful, sometimes it is difficult to take out just before. Also there are some iron bars in the river.

We ran it with 44cm on the 13/07/16
There are many iron bars which you can see in the river. I don’t think it’s the perfect river for hydrospeed.
There is a tree which blocks the first rapid but you can avoid it on the right.
If you are curious, you can run the tunnel at the beginning of the section, just make sure that there are no trees inside before.
At this water level the Urthier gorge seemed ok but we didn’t have the time to run it.

Beautiful gorge, the rocks look like this on the Tessin. We portage the unrunnable rapid on the right side and put in (vertical slide entrance) just after it.

Be careful when you scout the first rapid, scouting it from the bridge makes the rapids less impressive than in reality. And particularly for the last hole which is very boily and sticky.
At the exit of the gorge there are two recirculating stoppers. If there is a high water level it could be very difficult to secure the first one.

We ran it with 280cm on the 11/07/16
I don’t think there is a maximum level for this section, the higher the water level is, the bigger the waves, the smaller the eddies and the more fun you could have. Be careful, in the middle there is a deadly dam indicated by a sign. You can portage it on the right side, there is a big eddy before.
After the dam, the Oetz splits into two arms, we took the small arm on the right.
You can take out on the left or on the right side.

We did both parts at about 6,5 cubics on the 11/07/16. I think that it is not really interesting to paddle only one section. There is still a sign which says that it is forbidden to paddle from the 15th of August to March.
There are some trees on the first section, but you can portage everything. Be careful, with more water the must run at the end can be very dangerous, particularly for the first person because you can’t set a safety for her.
You have to take out on the left side before the bridge. There is a small track (quite steep) but it is easier than getting out under the bridge.

Die Schieferverwerfung im unteren Teil (siehe Eintrag weiter unten) ist nicht verschwunden, sondern hat sich nur ziemlich verändert. Die Befahrung ist nicht einfacher geworden als früher. Sollte auf jeden Fall angeschaut werden. Bei dem angetroffenen Pegel (Referenz Simme Mittelwasser, Saane Einstieg ca. 12 Kubik) bildet sich auf der linken Seite unterhalb der Stufe eine kräftige (zumindest die erste) Doppelwalze. Bei diesem Pegel ist eine Befahrung wohl eher Mitte rechts zu empfehlen.

Der Baum in der 3. Schlucht ist weg und sie kann nun wieder befahren werden. Ein Blick von der Brücke aus vor der Befahrung der Saane ist jedoch immer Pflicht...

Am 16.7.16. gefahren. 12m^3, alles frei und fahrbar, kaum Wasserwucht aber auch noch kein Geschrappel.

The tree which was in the middle of the "Morel rapid" has been removed!

Durch die Hochwasser in der letzten Zeit scheint sich das Flussbett in einigen Bereichen recht markant verschoben zu haben. Speziell beim alten Wehr bei der Firma Läderach in Ennenda hat sich wieder eine kleine Stufe gebildet, welche fast über die gesamte Flussbreite rückläufig ist (ganz links fahren).
Kurz vor dem Ausstieg in Ennenda gibt es bei heruntergelassenem Wehr ebenfalls eine kleine Stufe mit Rücklauf und die Durchfahrt durch das Wehr ist sowiso mit Vorsicht zu geniessen (vorgängig anschauen).

ACHTUNG! Neuer Baum seit heute in der mittleren Sill!
Einige hundert Meter oberhalb der ersten markanten Stelle (damit meine ich die, wo es links an der Wand hinunter geht) liegt in der Rechtskurve ein gewaltiger Baum mit diversesten Ästen komplett über den Fluss. Durchfahrt nicht möglich. Bei aktuellem Wasserstand (1,45) lässt sich kurz vorher rechts im Kehrwasser anhalten und umtragen.
