Please report any group of kayakers paddling the Gyr: Day, time, number of paddlers, to prove the use of the river by kayaking community, by posting at list one picture of the "put in", or any rapid, to compare observations to the power station project leaders.

"Important info regarding the gauge on the Guil. In recent years (and especially in the last 6 months) the Guil has become more "entrenched" in its bed. This means that the references we have from the past are no longer correct. For anecdote, last week a couple of local heroes sailed Triple Chute to Maison du Roy with 125cm. One of them had already sailed the Guil with 160cm (and even 180 ?). Last week's 125cm was by far the heaviest he had sailed on the Guil....
Conclusion: pay attention, scout ahead (the road is never far away) and make the right decisions ????.

We went yesterday from st. Lorenzen by 78 cm. We portaged one tree, it was visible from distance. Others could be ran under or around. Just before bridge to Obergail there is a tree in right arm behind right turn, where most flow is going. No problems in following section.

the length of the section is closer to 2,5km than 1,5.
(measured with google measure distance tool)
